Preschool & Primary & Kindergarten
Our Montessori Primary Programs are our true Children’s House or “Casa Dei Bambini” as Maria Montessori imagined. Our three large classrooms start students at 33 months and continue through Kindergarten.
Maple Tree Montessori’s Preschool offers both morning and afternoon full 3 hour sessions from 8:30 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 3:30. There is also a full day option for our primary students from 8:30 to 3:30. This full day preschool option includes two full mixed age classroom sessions, lunch and outdoor time. All of our sessions are five day a week programs as required by the American Montessori Society for accreditation.
Laying the Foundations for a Lifetime of Learning
Our Preschool Program at Maple Tree Montessori Academy offers a rich, child-centered learning environment that fosters independence, concentration, and joy in learning from ages 3 to 6. As children move through the preschool years, they are introduced to a wider range of Montessori materials that challenge their growing cognitive and social abilities.
The Montessori Preschool Curriculum at Maple Tree includes individualized practical life skills, sensory-based learning, foundational mathematics, language arts, and cultural studies, all aimed at developing a well-rounded individual that is both curious and independent!
“These very children reveal to us the most vital need of their development, saying : ‘Help me to do it alone!’“
Dr. Maria Montessori
In our preschool classrooms, children are encouraged to explore concepts at their own pace in a collaborative setting, where learning from peers is just as important as instruction from adults. This approach not only enhances academic skills but also cultivates essential social skills such as empathy, cooperation, and respect for others. By integrating academic and social development, our Montessori Preschool Program ensures that each child not only succeeds in school but thrives in all areas of life.
Our classrooms are fully equipped with the complete complement of Montessori materials, Sensorial, Practical Life, Math, Language and Cultural. Academic presentations and practice are recorded and charted by the Montessori certified lead teacher. Reading is taught through hands on phonetic activities presented individually or in small groups. Spanish is 3 days per week and cultural presentations including cooking are an ongoing part of our classrooms. Kindergarten students participate in the Brighton Area Schools Shared Time Program for small group classes that include Art, Music, Physical Education and French.
