Chick Moorman “Transformational Parenting” Workshop

Maple Tree Montessori is excited to welcome back “Parent Talk” author and gifited speaker, Chick Moorman. Chick will present a workshop “Transformational Parenting” at Maple Tree Montessori in Brighton, Michigan on Saturday, March 24th from 1:00 – 4:00. The cost of this wonderful parenting workshop is $20.00 per person / $30.00 per couple. Scholarships help is available for those in need. Parent Night

Fall is around the corner and our 1st day of school at Maple Tree Montessori academy is coming soon. Our teachers are busy getting everything ready for their students. We have moved our Elementary classrooms, cleaned, sorted and organized our Montessori materials, and bought our supplies. Maple Tree is nearly ready for the 2011 / 2012 school year. Our Parent Orientation Night will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm. We will be welcoming our new parents, introducing our teachers and presenting our “Extra’s”. Concerned residents of Livingston County were recently told that investment in Early Childhood education is crucial to a strong, healthy adult, a competitive workforce and prosperous United States and an innovative world. Maple Tree Montessori Academy will be hosting the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Livingston County’s very important workshop “Stewards of Children” This crucial event is open to all parents, grandparents and caregivers of children. The workshop addresses the sensitive issues of child abuse and the fact that it is not likely to be committed by a stranger. Teaching our children to watch out for strangers is not nearly enough. Enrollment Update

Wow…After an amazing year, starting with two new teachers (new to MTMA, but not to Montessori or to education) I am delighted to announce that our Fall enrollment for our Elementary program has nearly doubled over last year. Ms. Hema and Mr. Kyle have dramatically improved the quality of our Elementary Montessori school and of course, our environment as a whole. Power of One Celebration April 29th

The Power of One Celebration is an excellent evening with hors d’oeurvers, music, raffles and auctions as well as the presentation of the 2011 Champion for Children Award. Capable Kids Parenting Class

Maple Tree Montessori Academy is pleased to offer an outstanding parenting class “Capable Kids” presented by the Women’s Resource Center of Livingston County. This class will be presented in 3 parts…4/19 – Brain Development, 4/26 – Attachment, and 5/3 – Self Regulation. All will be held at MTMA from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
